Saturday Night Concert
Well folks, you're in for a real treat this year! Our Saturday night concert features Heather Blush and the Uppercuts opening for AV (funk/soul project of Ann Vriend).

AV is a dancier presentation, focused on heavy rhythm section grooves, and full RnB production. Click here to visit her website."Holy wow! What a voice, what a performance!" At least that's what folks in Australia said after they heard the soaring, evocative, Aretha-eque vocals of Ann Vriend, our headliner on Saturday night!

With a compelling combination of defiant resilience and heartfelt vulnerability she delivers her unique brand of gritty, inner-city soul - and sometimes quite the funky old-school dance party.

AV is an award-winning performer and songwriter, having won the "She's The One" performance contest at the Ottawa Bluesfest, as well as the 2017 Cobalt Music Prize at the Maple Blues Awards for her gospel style ballad, "All That I Can".

Coming from a humble background on Edmonton's east side, Ann Vriend kills it live, having sold 18,000 albums off the stage independently! Not to worry, she'll have CDs for sale for you as well!

Heather Blush and The Uppercuts is a group of rogue troubadours based in Calgary, Alberta. Click here to visit their website.Your evening begins at 7:30 pm with Heather Blush and The Uppercuts, a group of rogue troubadours based out of Calgary, Alberta.

Sassy, sultry, and just plain fun, these dedicated musicians perform original songs designed to knock your socks off! With energetic, audience-engaging shows, Heather is known for songwriting that covers all bases between witty sarcasm and gutwrenching honesty. With "Captain" Steve Hazlett on drums, and "Duellin' Dale Ulan" on upright bass, this band packs a punch and leaves a lasting impression.

All in all, this is going to be an amazing evening of music. Tickets are $25 in advance and include a complete concert event! Get your seats early to ensure the best spot! Doors open at 7 pm, Saturday September 8th, 2018 at the Didsbury Elks Hall.
